Uncaria tomentosa, commonly known as cat’s claw, is a woody vine whose bark is harvested for medicinal use. It is used mainly to reduce inflammation in conditions such as arthritis and digestive complaints, and it helps lower pro‑inflammatory mediators and free radical activity. Because it can suppress immune responses and may affect liver enzymes, people with immune disorders, pregnant or breastfeeding women, and those on medications that affect the immune system should use it cautiously.
